A Year In Review: EQNX in 2020

At the start of 2020, EQNX was ready for the team's biggest year yet. New signings to bolster both the player roster and support staff put the team in a position for success across the world. While the success did appear early on, the arrival of COVID-19 shut down events and quickly left the team confused on our direction for the year. That did not last long, as the dedication and hard work from everyone on EQNX made 2020 the team’s most impactful and exciting year yet.

While we look forward to the return of events and seeing everyone in-person once it is safe, it is time to look back at some of our favorite moments from the last year.

The offseason is always an odd time for competitors. Players move teams, changes are made for the competitive season and there is lots of time for practice. With the extended offseason for 2020, here’s an inside look to Equinox in the offseason. Equinox started 2020 by announcing the team’s newest player, Ulsan. Shortly after, the team took on Evo Japan as well as the EQNX vs. World First-to-Ten streams with KuroKuro including Jyotaro and Joey Fury. FireWolf's First EVO
Ever since I first became involved with the Fighting Game Community in 2017, attending the Evolution Championship Series has been a goal for me. This year, I finally achieved that goal with the rest of Equinox Gaming. Even though I did not compete this year, EVO was still an eye-opening experience for me regarding how much I still have to learn about fighting games. The weekend was long and tiring but well worth it. Watching the Equinox players compete only added to the intensity. The memories made at my first ever EVO are some that I will remember forever.
